Tips for Softer Skin for Spring and Summer

Hey Guys,

It seems sort of odd to me that I’m posting about achieving softer skin for spring and summer when there is a few feet of snow on the ground where I live. But, it is nearing the end of April , and I am confident that spring WILL get here soon.

We all start showing a little more skin once the warmer weather arrives; softer skin can often make you feel more confident! I wanted to share with  you guys a few awesome products I’ve found and tips I have for achieving softer skin as we approach the spring and summer months.

Two New Store Opening at Mall of America- The Body Shop & Sigma

Hey Guys!

I hope you’re all having a great weekend! Happy February.    I found out that The Body Shophas a new store opening at the Mall of America on February 16th 2013. The body shop has lots of great bath and body products, as well as some makeup and home beauty products.

They are giving away  free body butters to the first 50 people who purchase in store that day. But- if you don’t live in the Minneapolis Area and can’t get to the Mall of America, watch my video to check out some awesome things you can find there!

Another recent store opening at the Mall of America is the   Sigma store which is one of my favorite beauty brands! They have really affordable brushes, and an eyebrow kit that I can’t get enough of.   I’ve been to the store recently; it’s gorgeous.  Check out what you can find there in my recent video:

My Favorite Beauty Picks from December and Gift Ideas for you- Part 2!

Hey Guys!!

Can you believe it…only 5 days until Christmas! This month is so fun and magical, I don’t want it to end.

I am going to share some more products tonight with you guys that I have been using a lot of over the past month. These items would make great gifts or stocking stuffers.

Check these out!

Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray. I use this setting spray every day, before and after I apply my makeup. I feel like it helps the longevity of my makeup and the overall finish. I also use this with the beauty blender sponge to make blending foundation easy and flawless!

 

 Sensationail Gel Nail Starter Kit.  This is my first gel nail kit with the LED lamp and it is amazing. I can actually go two full weeks and not have to touch up my nails. The gel nailpolish REALLY lasts!

Slatkin and Co Candles from Bath and Body Works.  These are my favorite candles. These are so richly scented and come in such amazing scents!! I love them. Look for the deals when they do 2 or $20!

My Favorite Beauty Picks from December and Gift Ideas for you!

Hey Guys,

I have a special treat tonight.  I am going to give you an inside scoop into my most used products from the past month! These are all beauty/health related items that I have been using almost everyday for a while now. I figured they would all make great gifts or stocking stuffers if they are things I love enough to use everyday!

Philip B. Peppermint & Avacado Volumizing & Clarifying Shampoo. I LOVE this stuff. I don’t know if I’ve ever actually used a clarifying shampoo, or if it’s just that I’ve never used one this good. After using this , my hair feels so soft, clean, and full of volume!! I love the way the peppermint tingles the scalp and has such a refreshing smell!

Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil.  This cleansing oil takes off makeup effortlessly, keeps my skin feeling hydrated, and has the neatest warming sensation when you first apply it. It warms up as you put in on your face, and smells like sweet apricots. It’s amazing. I’m hooked.

Pevonia Botanica Ligne Nyphea Dry Oil Body Moisturizer. I am also in LOVE with this dry oil body moisturizer. I have had the driest skin I’ve ever had this season. My body constantly has been seeking moisture. This is an easy spray on body oil that smells absolutely amazing and leaves your skin soft and hydrated!

Pattern Citris Moisturzing Body Wash. This smells so invigorating and fresh and feels so creamy and nice on your skin! Again, with my dry skin, I’ve been seeking the best products for my skin. Pattern body washes contain no parabens, no artificial fragrances, colors or dyes. They leave my skin feeling moisturized instead of dry. Also, these come in some great scents!! I encourage you to check them out.

Scunci Knotted Ponytailers. These are a brand new product for scunci. They keep ponytails in place without creating the dent or crease in your hair. They are definitely my favorite style ponytail holder. They come in fun colors and you can find them right now at CVS. The middle picture here are the knotted ponytail holders. 

 Eyeko Skinny Liquid liner. This is my GO TO liquid liner right now. I love them!! They are richly pigmented, easy, simple, and have the perfect marker thickness for drawing on your liner whether you want it thick or thin. These are sold at Sephora and I will recommend them to everyone! 

Zaggora Hot Pants!!!!!! These are just the BEST! The absolute BEST! I cannot rave enough about how much I love these workout pants. They squeeze you in and make you burn up to 4x the calories. They help reduce cellulite and by making you sweat more. 84 % of women say that they’re skin was smoother after using these for 4 weeks. Need I say more? I would love to get more of the Zaggora gear!

Stocking Stuffers -Face Masks and Body Care Part 2

Hey Guys!

Today I want to continue sharing some awesome face mask and body care products for your skin! These would make great stocking stuffers for a skincare enthusiast.

Votre Vu Tarte D’Amande Body Souffle. This body cream is so luxurious and delicious. It smells sweet almond frosting. It contains coconut oil , shea butter and macadamia oil.

Epicuren Hydrating Mineral Mask.  This face mask helps calm , soothe and hydrate the skin. All skin types can use and benefit from this product. It contains aloe leaf juice and shea butter.

GUD from Burts Bees Body Butter.  These butters say they make skin “moft” moisturized and soft. They come in the scents vanilla flame, orange petalooza,  and floral cherrynova (my favorite).

Montagne Jeunesse Face Masks.  These masks come sold individually and can be found at most drug stores. I’m a face mask nut and LOVE doing masks so having a variety of them to try is a lot of fun! There are many to choose from including a warm exfoliating crystal masque, a deep cleansing white chocolate mask, a green tea peal off masque and more!

Stocking Stuffers -Face Masks and Body Care

It is December 13th and I cannot believe how amazing this month has been. It will be Christmas before we know it! This blogging everyday has been a lot of fun and I really appreciate all of you who read these posts , after all -I post for you! The comforting whipped soufle’ is amazing for you skin, smells great and feel great! Definitely a good choice for those who have dry sensitive skin.

Ahava Leave-on DeadSea Mud Body Cream.  This rich body cream with dead sea mud , vitamins and shea butter helps itching, skin irritations, intense dryness and roughness. It contains Vitamin E to help soothe skin, Aloe Vera to help soften and relieve very dry skin.

Holiday Treats and Goodies from LUSH!

Hi Everyone!

Check out this picture I took from some of the snowfall we got in Minnesota yesterday. Our nieces and nephews came over to go sledding in the backyard because we got so much snow. It has made me have ultimate Christmas and winter fever…and it reminds me why I LOVE this time of year so much; it is beautiful.

Carol’s Daughter Joy of Vanilla Body Indulgence Trio. $30 I love the scent of Vanilla. It’s so clean and sweet and warm. This set comes with three Hydrating body creams for dry to extra dry skin. The scents are Vanilla Truffle , Vanilla petals, and Sugar-dipped Vanilla!

Pevonia Body Renewal Ultimate Bath & Body Gift Set. $38 This set contains three body products , for softer, smoother, more hydrated skin.  It contains a dry oil body moisturizer, which I LOVE!! It also contains a body scrub and an anti-stress bath and shower gel.

Elemis Gift Sets and Candle from the Royal Collection. Elemis makes beautiful body spa products that make great gifts for anyone who wants to pamper themselves at home. The Royal Candle is one of their holiday gift items, that is just a gorgeous candle, that anyone who likes home decor would most likely LOVE.

Gift Items to Splurge on from Sephora!

Hey Guys,

I went to Sephora today to look around at some of the Holiday gift sets. Of course, most of the sets I had my eye on were makeup related. Here are some you definitely should take a look at if you find yourself shopping at Sephora!!

The Vice Palette from Urban Decay. $59  This palette is one of the top on my list for the next I have to have. It has 20 GORGEOUS never before seen colors from Urban Decay that are vibrant and highly pigmented. These colors are just those “fun” colors that you may not just wear for the average day, but a special event. I also think this palette would work amazing on Darker skin tones since there are some beautiful jewel tones, and these are so pigmented.

Cinderella Collection Palette from Sephora. $55 OK, I admit. This is another one on the top of my list. As a little girl, this was my all time favorite movie/fairy tail. I must have watched this movie over 1,000 times. So, this limited edition palette pretty much HAS TO BE mine. I LOVE it. The colors are beautiful, and the quality is actually REALLY amazing. I was VERY impressed with the color pay off and creamy texture of this palette.

L’OCCITANE Hand Cream Bouquet $50.  I  absolutely love this hand cream and this set comes with 6 different fragrances and designs. This would be a perfect set to buy if you wanted to split them up if you had multiple people to give gifts too. I also love the packaging and box this set comes in!

Lorac Pro Palette $42. This is the absolute most perfect eye shadow palette I have seen in a long time. It is so versatile. 9 matte neutral shadows ranging from white to black and 9 shimmery colors you can wear alone or with the matte shadows. I LOVE this palette and have to have it as an artist. The shadows are buttery smooth, and it is a great value!

Do-It-Yourself Gift: Homemade Coffee Sugar Body Scrub

Hey Guys!

I have been really into making do-it-yourself beauty products lately. I have a fun one to suggest to you all today- it’s a coffee sugar body scrub!! This is great for exfoliating and helping to reduce cellulite from the caffeine in that’s in coffee  Who doesn’t enjoy that? Plus- if you’re a coffee lover, you’re going to love using this in the shower every morning. The scent will be very rich and strong.

If you want to make someone a Christmas gift this year, this coffee sugar body scrub could be a great personalized gift! You can customize the jar , with ribbon, and a label to make it your own!

Here’s what you will need:

• An empty jar
• Coffee- any flavor you want
• Sugar
• Vanilla extract
• Olive Oil
• Pinch of cinnamon

What I did was used two scoops of coffee, approximately 1/3 cup, also used 1/3 cup sugar, I used white, but you can use brown for a softer texture. Mix in some vanilla extract, and a pinch of cinnamon. Add olive oil until it’s the consistency you want. You don’t want it runny, but you want enough oil to help the sugar and coffee grounds stick together. Finally, put in a jar, and customize how you want!
