If you don’t know already, I love fragrances. Everything about them, the beautiful decorative bottles, the way they remind you of a certain time if your life, or a particular place. I LOVE them. My Favorite Beauty Picks from December and Gift Ideas for you- Part 2!

Hey Guys!!

Can you believe it…only 5 days until Christmas! This month is so fun and magical, I don’t want it to end.

I am going to share some more products tonight with you guys that I have been using a lot of over the past month. These items would make great gifts or stocking stuffers.

Check these out!

Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray. I use this setting spray every day, before and after I apply my makeup. I feel like it helps the longevity of my makeup and the overall finish. I also use this with the beauty blender sponge to make blending foundation easy and flawless!

 

 Sensationail Gel Nail Starter Kit.  This is my first gel nail kit with the LED lamp and it is amazing. I can actually go two full weeks and not have to touch up my nails. The gel nailpolish REALLY lasts!

Slatkin and Co Candles from Bath and Body Works.  These are my favorite candles. These are so richly scented and come in such amazing scents!! I love them. Look for the deals when they do 2 or $20!

Women’s Fragrance Gifts-Lauren’s Choices Part 2

Today I want to share some more women’s fragrances either to give you an idea or a gift for someone or a gift for yourself. These are a few definitely worth checking out.

Delicious Cotton Candy by Gale Hayman. If you know someone who likes sweet sugary scents, this is the ultimate sweet scent. This is probably for a girly girl who loves sweet fragrances. Even the bottle is girly. It’s all pink and the top is a pink leopard.  The fragrance notes include: citruses, bergamot, cotton candy, lilly of the valley, fig leaves, brown sugar, licorice, vanilla, caramel, cedarwood, and musk.  You can find this fragrance on FragranceNet.com . EVAmour from Eva Longoria. Normally, I am not a fan of Celebrity fragrances. In the past I have not been able to find any that I find unique. But, I have now tried Eva and Evamour, both in the Eva Longoria fragrance line and both I just LOVE. Evamour is the newest scent. It comes in a beautiful red and gold bottle. This scent is deeper, and more sultry then the first fragrance, Eva , which is lighter. It opens with juicy notes of bergamot blossom, pink lady apple and red currant. Tiger lily, rose, frangipani and pink peony form the floral heart of the fragrance, followed by the warm base of woody and musky tones, amber and vanilla orchid.

Tresor Midnight Rose from Lancome.  This is definitely a more “sophisticated” scent. The bottle is very beautiful and the scent is very feminine.It contains:

Top Notes: Raspberry, Black currant bud absolute
Middle Notes: Rose absolute, Jasmine
Base Notes: Vanilla, Musk

Women’s Fragrance Gifts -Lauren’s picks Part 1

Today I wanted to share some of my top fragrance picks for gift ideas! I have recently loved collecting perfume bottles , they are so beautiful and you can keep them as a decorative piece even when it is all used up. Here are some of my top favorite perfume choices that I have been loving this year!

 

Tocca Fragrances. If you’re looking for a fragrance gift under $50, the Tocca sets may be the way to go. They include three small bottles of their regular size perfumes. All in the same beautiful bottles. The limited edition Viaggio is my favorite. Here are the three fragrances and their notes:

Acca Kappa Fragrance Calycanthus. I LOVE this fragrance, it is so fresh and flowery. Lately, I have really been into scents that smell like flowers. This just smells so clean but really rich and beautiful. It is described on the website as “A fresh floral scent created with the unique essence of the Calycanthus Flower and blended with notes of Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Honey and Musk.”

Ralph Lauren Big Pony Collection Fragrances.   These fragrances are so cute! 1, 2, 3, and 4. A pink, yellow, blue and purple each with a different fragrance. You can buy one separately if you think you know what fragrance she would like, or buy the gift set with a mini size of all the fragrances.

Elemis Gift Sets and Candle from the Royal Collection. Elemis makes beautiful body spa products that make great gifts for anyone who wants to pamper themselves at home. The Royal Candle is one of their holiday gift items, that is just a gorgeous candle, that anyone who likes home decor would most likely LOVE.

Thymes Frasier Fir and Holiday Scents for Holiday 2012

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is always the time that it really starts to feel like the Holidays. We put up the Christmas tree, decorate the house, start seeing Christmas lights on houses, and now we even have snow.  One of my favorite scents around this time of year is that “christmas tree” smell. I always grew up with an artificial tree, so when I discovered that THYMES had a scent called “frasier fir” it was very exciting.

I have a candle, and bar soap that smell just like a Christmas tree. Frasier Fir is by far my favorite scent that Thymes creates. They are locally based in Minneapolis too, which makes me love them even more.

My Top 5 Favorite Fragrances for Spring 2012

Hey Everyone!

I have never shared with you guys some of my favorite perfumes. I wanted to make a quick video showing you my top 5 fragrance choices for this spring. All of these fragrances are in my personal collection and are the best of the best. I cycle through these and have worn them over and over this spring. Most of them have a floral and sweet elements.

Beauty and Fragrance for Valentines Day!

Hey Guys,

You may not expect to receive anything for Valentine’s Day this year, but here are some things I’ve come across in the last month that would make a great gift , (even if you have to buy it for yourself). This is also sort of my January/February favorites in Beauty.

The first is one has to be my favorite scent right now. It is the fragrance, “After my own heart” by Ineke. http://ineke.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=23&products_id=28 I can’t even begin to describe how much I love this scent, especially this time of year. It smells like sweet lilacs. It’s notes are Bergamot, Raspberry, Crisp Green Foliage, Lilac Sandlewood, Heliotrope and Musk. IT SMELLS SO GOOD!!

The second gift item is a home fragrance. It is the Reed Diffuser by Alora Ambiance. These make a great gift for someone or for yourself because I don’t know who wouldn’t like something to make their home smell nicer. The third recommendation is a must have hair item in my own personal opinion. It is the GHD Limited Edition Pink Orchid Flat Iron. I think my all time favorite flat Iron I have ever used is the GHD. The Holiday Frasier Fir Scent from Thymes

Hey Guys!

Don’t have a REAL pine tree this Christmas? That’s ok! You can have an artificial tree and still get the scent of pine in your home.

I recently have been trying some of the products from the Thymes Frasier Fir Collection. This Fragrance reminds me of the holidays! It smells exactly like a pine tree and quickly makes you feel like you should be sipping hot chocolate and singing Christmas songs. The products I tried are the home fragrance and the hand wash and hand lotion.  

The notes in this fragrance are: Siberian fur needles, cedarwood and sandlewood and Musk. It is a very woodsy, earthy, comforting scent. 

Thymes has some of the most wonderful fragrances I have ever encountered. This is just one of the many I have tried that I love. The Frasier Fir is perfect for the holidays, and anyone who wants that nostalgic pine scent, while still having their artificial tree in their home!

Eva Perfume and Pin Up Collection by Orly: Two Loves

Hey Guys!

I want to share two things I am loving right now in May. The first is a perfume. It is rare that I find a perfume that I’m really crazy about. My favorite scent for a long time now has been Amor Amor by Cacharel. But, that is more a fall/winter scent in my opinion. So, I’ve been trying out some new perfumes and there is one that I absolutely can’t get enough of.

It is actually the Eva by Eva Longoria Fragrance. I always find the “celebrity perfumes” to be questionably. I was never big into the Britney Spears Scents or Paris Hilton fragrances and it seems to be that almost every female celebrity now a days has her own perfume. But- celebrity aside, this scent is SOO good. And, I think it’s the perfect Spring/Summer scent.

I have gotten I don’t know how many compliments on it…and my husband even says it smells good. And Clean. (haha) which is a good thing.

This perfume was created with allergies in mind, Eva had said she is allergic to most perfumes, so this is very good for those sensitive to perfume-y scents.

It smells very light, clean and floraly and sweet. Here are the notes:

Opening notes: citrus, neroli, bergamot tea and aldehydes.

Sustained notes: sheer jasmine, muguet, violet and freesia.

Lingering notes: skin musk, amber and sandalwood

I have noticed, I love the smell of Violets. This has Violet listed as one of the notes which could be a reason I like it!

The other thing I’m loving is the super fun Pin Up Collection by Orly for Summer 2011. There are only 4 shades. But, they are awesome. There are 2 glittery shades and a hot pink and a coral.

The creamy coral shade called “coquette cutie” is my favorite from this collection. You can find these at orlybeauty.com or select Sally’s and Ulta stores. They are $7.50 each.

I can see myself wearing these all summer! They are so fun.
