Non-Profit -Kony 2012 – Watch this Compelling Video

Hey Guys,

I couldn’t help but see people posting about KONY 2012 which made me wonder what it was , what did it mean???  Seconds after watching this I wanted to share it.

Watch this video. It is powerful, and will compell you to say something or take a stand. You must know about this and spread the word. I think we all need to work together, to use our power in social media, money, and friendship, to help out more world issues like this.

KONY 2012  is a half-hour documentary, backed up by Invisible Children, that’s tapping into the power of viral media to reach a global audience.

It’s based on Joseph Kony – a warlord in Uganda responsible for the enslavement of 30,000 children.

If you haven’t seen something about this in the News already, you will. I found this on some other You Tube Channels…and couldn’t help but want to post it myself.

LOVE and God Bless

Lauren

Lovelo Beauty and MOPS Pampering Day

Hey Guys!

Yesterday I was blessed with the opportunity to volunteer some time doing make up for MOPS (which stands for Mothers of Pre Schoolers)  pampering day. There were some other businesses there giving their time to some of  the women involved in MOPS through massage, hair styling, make up and more..

I  feel fortunate to have been asked to participate.

Here’s what the website has to say about Mops,“MOPS stands for “mothers of preschoolers” – but don’t let that confuse you. MOPS is about meeting the needs of every mom of a child from conception through kindergarten. Whether you’re urban, suburban, rural, stay-at-home, working, teen, adoptive, special-needs, single or married, MOPS is for you!

Being moms is what brings us together and allows us to build a community. The early years of being a mom are just as foundational to you as they are to your baby, and those years are filled with unique needs that other moms instinctively understand.”

Hope for Women : Beauty and Crafts with Purpose

Hey Everyone!

I was so excited to hear about this business. And, I’m very excited to share it with all of you.

It’s called, HOPE FOR WOMEN. They are a member of the Fair Trade Organization and distributes products that are handmade by disadvantage women worldwide who receive sustainable employment by making these beautiful products.

All of the women are paid a  fair, livable wage under safe and healthy working conditions.

The products are sold in mainstream marketplaces. In Minnesota you can find these products at multiple locations including, Whole Foods, Seward Co-op, The Wedge, and more. There is handmade jewelry, cards, key-chains, and other knickknacks.

The incredible women who make these products come from Columbia, India and El Salvador.

Not only are these products fair-trade and  handmade by disadvantaged women worldwide but they are all eco-friendly and very creative and beautiful.

I love the concept of Hope for Women and I’m glad that I now know about it.

If you know of any other organizations, businesses or beauty lines doing fabulous things for others, giving back, or helping the disadvantaged, let me know about them! I would love to learn more about them and write about them so that I can do my part in spreading the word!

For more information about Hope for Women please go to : http://www.hopeforwomen.com/

Thank you all for reading; have a wonderful week!!!

Love,

Lauren

Hi Friends and faithful subscribers,

It would be pointless for me to have a beauty blog unless I believed that beauty was more than just surface level things. As I have mentioned before, I want this blog to not only be a place where I post reviews of products, fun tips and tricks and the latest in beauty, but also a place where I share things that are beautiful to me that have a deeper meaning of beauty.

Where am I going with this?? Well, Royce and I are set to go to Africa this month as I have mentioned before. We are excited to embark on a journey both for us individually as well as together. I have prayed that God open my eyes and give me some enlightenment into other people’s lives and culture while I am there.

Yesterday we got up in front of the church congregation and had them pray for us and it lifted my spirits more , making me feel more confident about our travels ahead.

I want to let all of you know that if you want to keep up with my journey while in Africa, please subscribe to this blog. (in the top right hand corner).

Here is a video about one of the graduates from Daystar University. We will be meeting with him and hearing more about his life.

We are still fundraising and have to raise about $1000 more to reach the goal that we have set. I know God will  provide and we will be able to go but if you find it in your heart and have some extra money that you’d like to give us to help support our trip here is the info.

Go to: http://www.daystarus.org/   To make a donation click on : Give/Shop. Next when filling in the blanks type in : Royce and Lauren Pavelka Africa Mission trip under the blank for project type, otherwise the donation will not go to us.

Thank you all and I will be keeping you all posted. I hope you will follow along and come along for this journey WITH me.

I will also still be writing a few beauty blogs and reviews before I leave.

LOVE,

LAUREN
