Beauty Products that are Not Worth Your Money: Episode 1

Hey Guys,

I almost always write about products I LOVE. However, over the past few months I have tried a few products that were less than satisfactory. I think it’s important that I share these with all of you so you don’t end up wasting money! I really want to make sure that everything I write about is helpful and honest.

Keep in mind that the following are my opinions, and others may not have had similar experiences with these products. I hope you find this entertaining, funny or helpful!

Clarifying Hair Products That Have Actually Changed My Hair!

Hey Guys!

Today I wanted to tell you guys about three life changing hair products. I say life changing because they are things that I  have used and was SHOCKED with how they actually changed the texture of my hair.

I had always known about “clarifying” shampoos, and I never really thought they lived up to their claim. I always assumed that they cleaned your hair but didn’t really know just HOW WELL they clean your hair. Also- since my hair is blonde, I was worried that a clarifying shampoo would alter the color and make it look more brassy or something. I was completely wrong; if anything the clarifying shampoo has helped my hair look more bright, and shiny. The color looks better, the texture is better, it feels more voluminous and soft.

The three products that have helped clarify my hair and have Actually made a difference are the:

• T3 Showerhead- which has 8 different pressure settings and a filter inside that helps clean out dirt and chlorine in the water before it hits your skin and hair!
• Kenra Clarifying Shampoo- smells like grapefruits and deep cleans hair removing all buildup from products and water in your hair.
• Philip B  Peppermint and Avacado Clarifying Shampoo- Deep cleans and clarifies but also smells like peppermint and tingles and stimulates your scalp. Great for volume and promoting hair growth.

GHD Flat Iron for Super Straight Hair

Hey Guys!

If I was asked what one hair styling tool I wouldn’t want to live without. It would be my GHD Flat iron. The reason is, you can straighten your hair stick straight, and even put curls in it as well. I have tried so many different brands of flat irons but I feel like the GHD is honestly the best.

I’ve had an older model for the past few years and it’s never let me down. It heats up in seconds and has 1 ” plates that straighten hair perfectly. I recently was gifted the limited edition metallic rich ruby flat iron and it’s gorgeous. It’s always more fun in my opinion when your tools are a different color other than black! 

Here is the video I made demonstrating how easy it is to use the GHD flat iron and how I can create pin straight hair in just minutes.

 

 

I have had other flat irons in the past that snag or catch on hair and pull it out but the GHD seems to be built so well and has never pulled my hair while using it.

It is simple to use, there is only one on switch and it literally heats up in less than 20 seconds; it’s super fast.The great thing about that is, if you decide last minute that you need to straighten out your hair, you can get the job done in minutes. It also cools down very quickly.

Another great feature about the GHD flat iron is the swivel cord on the side shown in the picture above. For instance, while curling your hair if you are twisting the iron around, it is not going to get tangled up in the cord, the cord moves around as you move the iron. In my video I demonstrate this.

Bra Strap Ponytail Holder?! By Capelli New York

 

Hey Guys,

I wanted to share a hair accessory I am loving right now! It has been a blessing with styling, because with these I can use them and they do not create a dent! That way, I can put my hair back at night before I go to bed, and in the morning I don’t have to worry about a crease in my hair if I want to style it down. These ponytail holders are silky and don’t pull or tug at your hair; they’re extremely gentle and look good on your wrist. 

So, check out Bra Strap Ponytail holders by Capelli New York. I found these at Ulta. There are 10 in a pack and they were $10.

Another company that makes these is called Emi-Jay Hair Ties. I have not tried these , but they look identical and I’m sure they work just as good. The Emi-Jay ones come in all different colors , patterns, and styles. The Emi-Jay Hair Ties started by from two teenage girls. A portion of all of their profits goes to Locks of Love.

Revive Your Hair! Products That Give You a Boost

 

 

Hey Guys,

Do you ever struggle with styling your hair day to day? Do you feel like you have to wash it every single day for it to look decent?

 

Well, I used to be one of those people who felt like I had to wash my hair everyday because I thought otherwise it looked greasy. ew

I actually found out that if you wash your hair everyday your scalp tends to produce more oil making it more oily. Instead, if you go 2 or 3 days without washing it, your scalp and hair get used to that and produce less oil making it more manageable.

Here are some products that I use and have found really help out a lot if you want to skip a day or two of washing your hair.

1.Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush. I have raved about this product 3 times now. I can’t say enough good things because it’s the one dry shampoo I have tried that really lifts your roots, makes them less oily and helps blend incoming roots with blond hair.  Triple bonus. It’s the best. Oh, and it smells good too.

 

2. MATRIX Design Pulse Mega Dust. This stuff is a magic root booster, it gives hair so much lift with the tiniest amount of “dust” as they call it. Sprinkle a little bit through your palm and run through the roots at the top of your head for lift and volume when your hair starts to droop. Please note though, a little bit goes a long way, this stuff turns into sort of a sticky/tacky texture and if you use too much your hair will feel sticky. I’d say use less than you think is necessary-one sprinkle into palm.

3.BIOLAGE colorcarethérapie Shine Shake Spray. This helps give shine to dry looking hair. It helps condition and is great on color treated hair at protecting it and making it look more vibrant. So I use the other two products in the roots; this is strictly for the length of my hair. to make it look less dry. This is very lightweight-is not sticky at all and smells really good!!

4. The Sultra Bombshell Curling Rod.  This is the best for giving natural wave or curl to your hair. It’s easy to use, and gives my hair more volume on the days I don’t feel like washing it. I have been using this a lot lately to create a natural wave. I love the look it gives. I have mine in a 1 inch barrel.

Back to School Beauty 2012- Part 1

It is that time…back to school season. Some people have already started school, others have classes beginning soon. Back to school was always a hard time for me. I didn’t mind school, but it meant the end of a free schedule and back to classes and homework. However, feeling and looking good can help make the transition easier. So, I want to recommend a few products I’ve been using recently that are great anytime of year, but also helpful for back to school time.

Today I want to talk about 3 skin, hair and mouth products I have used and would recommend. Tomorrow, I will talk about some makeup products I love for back to school.

First, check out the Tanda Pearl. A phenomenal teeth whitening system that will get your teeth brighter and whiter in minutes or days. This is perfect for fast results and a bright smile right before you go back to school,  if you’re just looking to make a great first impression or just want a brighter smile.  It is enamel safe and easy to use. Whiten both the top and bottom teeth using blue light technology in one device. I have used several teeth whitening systems, and this is definitely the fastest, easiest to use, and  least sensitivity I’ve had with teeth whitening. The retail price of this system is $195.

 

The next item is a cool way to remember to wash your face. We all want clearer skin anytime of year and especially if you’re going back to school.  It’s the Clearasil® PerfectaWash™. The main feature of this is it’s automatic dispenser which gives you just the perfect amount that you need for your face to prevent overdrying.  It is a cool, innovative and pretty way to display your facewash on your bathroom sink.  It is dermatologist tested and you can buy refills for the dispenser. The system comes with 2 face washes, Superfruit Splash and Soothing Plant Extracts. I saw this listed at $19.99 in Target. It may or may not be on sale on Amazon.com, it was when I checked! 

The last thing  I have to share with you is the Batiste Dry Shampoo in the scent blush.  I think dry shampoo is a must-have for everyone. Not only can you use it to liven up 2nd day hair, and get rid of oils. But, my favorite use for dry shampoo especially this one in blush is to use it to give my hair more volume. I spray it through my roots, rub it in,  and it instantly gives me volume. It also makes my hair smell nice. It’s a great way to make getting ready in the morning quicker! This retails for $7.99 and I found mine at ULTA.

What’s in My Shower?? New Video Camera Footage…

Hey Guys!

Hope you all had a great week. I recently got a new video camera and my first video I have made with it is a “what’s in my shower?” video. I wanted to do something that was easy to film so I could get the hang of the camera and learn how to use it.

I have seen videos on Youtube showing what people keep in their showers, and I always think it is really interesting to see what products people are currently using.
