I encourage you to watch this short video and hope that it expresses my desire to give all of you insights on inner beauty as well as outer.

My main job is focused around outer beauty, make up and lashes,  but I know that I can encourage people to feel beautiful in the inside as well. Hope you enjoy this short video and look forward to more like this.

Where do you find your Inspiration to Create? MissGlamorazzi Music Video

Hey Guys,

This is kind of a different post than your used to seeing, but I figured I can do a few of these from time to time. What I will be doing is showing you a look I created with my hair/makeup/accessories etc that I got from some outside source of inspiration.

Yesterdays inspiration was Ingrid (MissGlamorazzi) on YouTube. If you guys are not clued into the You Tube world, and you don’t know who she is, she’s a really adorable, amazingly talented YouTube Vlogger. I recently got addicted to her videos when she did something called “Vlogmas” where she vlogged every day of December until Christmas.

It’s almost like watching a really great reality show and her main guy friend “Luke” who also has a YouTube Channel was in almost every one of her videos. Turns out, they are now dating and they also do music videos together. It’s so cute and definitely makes good entertainment!

Their latest music video was a re-make of “Back to December” by Taylor Swift. I really liked Ingrid’s, hair and makeup in this video and it inspired my “look of the day”. Here is the video. Watch it if you have not seen it! And, I highly recommend both Ingrid and Luke’s Vlog Channels on You tube. They are vlogging every day of 2012, and they are really fun to watch!!

Here’s the video:

And here are some photos of the look I created based off Ingrid’s style in the video:

Have a great night everyone!!

Beauty Guru’s/Beauty Vloggers- Beauty Inspiration!

Hey Guys!

How do you get inspiration in beauty, style, fashion etc? Do you read magazines like Allure, Vogue and Elle? Do you watch the Kardashians, or maybe the housewives of (whatever county)? Reguardless of where you get ideas, it’s really fun to follow or read things that inspire you.

For the past year or so I’ve discovered the YouTube beauty community. There are many people on YouTube who have made their own channel and post videos. I just wanted to share a few of my favorite beauty gurus so that maybe I’ll get YOU addicted to their videos too!! (haha no jk) I just want to share them with you to let you know where I get some of my inspiration and maybe some of you will want to check out their channels.

Here are my beauty guru favorites and the women that I love to follow. I’ll post all the links to their YouTube Channels below:

Ingrid (MissGlamorazzi)- she is absolutely adorable and has 2 channels. Her 2nd channel the one about her life called “vlogmas” is my favorite right now: http://www.youtube.com/user/missglamorazzi?feature=watch#p/u/0/DMI6BlUhCpk and http://www.youtube.com/TheGridMonster

Fleur (FleurDeForce)- Fleur lives in the UK and knows a lot about beauty! She has unique product recommendations. Her vlog channel is also one of my favorites right now: http://www.youtube.com/user/FleurDeForce?blend=1&ob=4 and http://www.youtube.com/user/FleurDeVlog?feature=watch

Kandee (KandeeJohnson) – probably one of the happiest, brightest, inspirational women I have seen! LOVE HER! http://www.youtube.com/user/kandeejohnson?blend=1&ob=4

Wendy (BentleyBlonde)- every time she uploads a video I love to watch it! Her dog Kissu is adorable and she likes a lot of the same products I do!! http://www.youtube.com/user/BentleyBlonde

Those are my four favorites at the moment. Let me know if you check out any of their channels and like watching them too!!

Dove Diary: Beauty Advice and My Daily Beauty Regime

Hi Beautiful Viewers,

I am very honored to have been chosen to be featured on www.2threads.com; an Australian Fashion and Beauty blog. They are doing a Dove Diaries special and have asked me to share a couple of things with all of you!

First, they wanted to know what my advice would be on “staying beautiful.”

  • My number one piece of advice on looking and feeling beautiful would be to embrace who you are and how you were created. We are all so unique and it would be really boring to all look the same. There are many images out there portraying a beauty “ideal” and it is not healthy to get hung-up on. You  need to enjoy your life and embrace the beauty you are.
  • Another piece of  advice for looking and feeling beautiful is to learn what works for you and your body, hair, skin, makeup etc. Just because one beauty magazine tells you a certain color you should wear, doesn’t mean you should. Find what works for you and work with it. Don’t be afraid to experiment and try new styles and products.
  • Lastly, take care of your hair, skin and nails. Healthy shiny hair, and beautiful glowing skin are really two things people notice.Make sure you drink plenty of water and keep your skin moisturized!

As far as my daily beauty regime goes…it tends to vary day to day and has gotten simpler and simpler the older I get. I think keeping it simple is key. I try to take really good care of my teeth, hair, skin and nails.

A couple of the things I do on a regular basis are :

  • Exfoliate my skin
  • Moisturize my skin and apply an eye cream
  • Use deep conditioner on my hair
  • Brush and Floss my teeth
  • Paint  nails
  • Apply makeup
  • Drink lots of water and Green tea
  • Apply FAVORITE PERFUME OF ALL TIME: Mine is, AMOR AMOR by CACHAREL
Those are my basics. Keep it simple, wear and use what makes you feel good, not what others are telling you to. Be honest with yourself and with others, treat others better than you would yourself with kindness, respect and love.

Hey Ladies and Gents,

I heard this song tonight on Pandora and I loved the lyrics. My first thought, “share it on my blog”.

So, here it is. It’s a song called “Lovely” by Sara Haze. The chorus lyric says, “I am lovely just the way that I am…I feel lovely just the way that I am.” I found it very encouraging…hope you will too.

Former Makeup Artist, Pia Toscano kicked off American Idol

American Idol

Image via Wikipedia

Hey Guys!!

Ok, so I have a confession to make. I love American Idol this year… I think the talent is great and the judges are fantastic and entertaining. On tonight’s elimination, Pia Toscano was the one to leave which left me more than disappointed.

I don’t usually get that “into”  tv shows. I prefer movies. But, there’s something about American Idol and watching people perform that is just so entertaining (and I think some of the rest of you can agree). I am not usually one to voice my opinions on things, or get bothered by something on a “show”. But, with Pia leaving it has left me feeling really disappointed. I have been watching the show many times to see what fantastic ballad she can tackle or how much she is going to sound like some of my favorites, Whitney, Celine and Mariah.

My husband and I always get into little arguments about how he enjoys “male singers” more and I enjoy “female singers”. It’s about relateability. What can I blast in my car and sing along to. I’d rather sing to a female voice personally. So, where am I going with all of this? My favorite singers are the female stars who can REALLY belt out those notes. I have never on American Idol seen someone who I thought could sing like Mariah Carey, or sound like Celine Dion. I think Pia is that talented.

She may need some guidance in her career and with her talent, (like all of us do) but I think she has great things ahead of her. I write about this mostly for selfish reasons…to let out my disappointment. But also because this is a “beauty” blog… Pia has a beautiful voice and is a beautiful girl. I wanted to share my opinions.

Enjoy three incredible songs…(and tell me she is not fantastic!) I’d give anything to have a voice like this…

Love & God Bless, Lauren

Go Get Your Dreams- Inspiration for Today

Hey Guys,

I am still sick . :( I’m trying so hard to rest, drink water, do everything I know possible to get better. Since I’ve been in bed so much these last couple days I’ve been watching a lot of movies and youtube videos. :)

I shared with you the other day a video from a woman who I think is so inspirational. Well, I’ve been home watching her videos and have been overwhelmed at how sweet and wonderful I think she is. I actually just want to share 2 more videos with you guys.

Her video titled , “I love you and believe in all your dreams” is exactly what I want to tell all of YOU today!!

This second video is her story. I admire those that are honest and share there personal struggles and realities with the world. She encourages me so much.

Anything you can think possible , I believe YOU can make it happen. I appreciate all of your love and support in reading my blogs. Please, if you have enjoyed reading any of my posts consider taking time to subscribe up at the top right corner of my blog.

Love you all!! In my opinion, there’s no such thing as being TOO sweet. ;)

Inspirational Female: Kandee Johnson

Goodmorning Friends!

I am so happy that so many of you read the words that I write and read the blog’s that I post for you! I feel so blessed that I have found a hobby that I really love and that makes my heart happy. I always feel so encouraged when I read any messages or e-mails that I get from you guys saying how you enjoy my writing or you enjoy my tips about beauty. It’s an honor.

Reading your messages and your kind words only make me want to open up more with you guys. It makes me want to share more of my life, my thoughts, feeling and loves. So, one thing that I want to do is share with you some women who I think are inspirational from time to time.

I have been following beauty guru’s on YouTube and blog’s for a little over a year now and one in particular has really stood out to me and I enjoy reading and watching the videos and blogs she posts so so much! Kandee Johnson.

She is a mom, a makeup artist, a you tube vlogger, blogger and so many other things. The reason I have chosen to share her with you all is because I see such a light in her, an honest woman in this world who is not perfect (because none of us are) but who really is doing what she loves and has such a talent to share with the rest of us!

Her makeup tutorials and tips and tricks inspire me to keep doing what I’m doing. Here are the links to her blog’s and I’d encourage you to check them out!

Her makeup artist blog: http://www.kandeej.com/

Her personal blog: http://kandeelandkandeeland.blogspot.com/

I recently watched a video on her YouTube channel. It was her just sitting down in front of the camera and addressing some things she wanted to share with her viewers. I found that so much of what she said is what I feel so often. I’m not comparing myself to her. But, I’m saying I can relate to her. I do what I do because I love to do it. I feel very blessed because God is in my life and he provides a security for me that I cannot imagine not feeling.

The reason I admire Miss Kandee is that she had the courage to speak about her faith and how it’s gotten her to where she’s at on YOU TUBE! She speaks about being a light in this world of darkness reguardless of the negativity that can often surround her. She says, the reason she is able to get through it all and “has happiness in her heart is because of God.” This video is very long (almost an hour) but I’d encourage you to watch it if you have time and have an interest in the beauty/blogging industry.

One of the things she says that I could not agree more with is: the greatest thing you can do is love somebody.” -Kandee Johnson.

Talk to you all soon!!

Lots of LOVE …Lauren

Makeup Artist Story- A poem

A woman who is confident and kind

is the best kind of customer to find.

A woman who doesn’t care whose feelings get hurt,

and anything that comes to mind she feels free to blurt.

No matter what she tries on or what she wears…

My patience is something she often impairs.

She’s not very nice and actually quite cold,

numbers matter and in the end, how much is sold.

This kind of customer saps the fun out of my work

and makes me feel like just like any other cosmetic clerk.

I want to make people smile ,and  look at themselves and grin

to give them the confidence of gorgeous glowing skin.

Confidence is something that comes from inside,

I can make you look pretty but your insecurity will not hide.

So be kind to everyone that you meet, those who try to help you out

Because otherwise you give me something more to write about.

You can’t take a chunk out of the middle of the lipstick, don’t even try,

or I’ll have to stop you, and don’t get me started by asking me why.

Please don’t second guess if you come to us for tips and advice,

I shouldn’t have to keep going over my reasoning more than twice.

I do this every day and only want to help you out,

so don’t come in and complain, or scream and shout.

Love your makeup artist  and be kind to all,

and you just may walk away with quite a big haul. :)

Lauren

Miss America 2011- One Who Inspires Me…

Hi Beautiful Friends!

Just a reminder to you women and girls to stay true to who you are and know that you absolutely shouldn’t let anything stop you from dreaming. And definitely don’t let the “Standards of Beauty” stop you from knowing how fantastic you are.

Miss Delaware contestant in the Miss America Pagent 2011 inspires me. Kayla (Miss Delaware) struggles from alopecia areata, which is a disease that causes hair loss. But, that has not stopped Kayla. She is in the current running for Miss America which which will be announcing a winner January 15th 2011 around 10 pm Central time. :)

I’m hoping she wins and rips off that wig at the end!!

Believe in who you are, be thankful for what God has given you…celebrate your unique qualities. You’re beautiful ;)
