BSF & Monochromatic Nail Trend…

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to share with you all that I’ve started doing BSF. BSF for all of you that don’t know is Bible Study Fellowship. As a kid, I did this for many years in the school program, and now in my 20′s I’ve decided to go back into the adult program and continue to study. It’s a study that is in around 30 countries worldwide, and it is a christian bible based study that is Non-denominational. They have a women’s program, men’s program, young adult program and children’s program. I have only been going the past two weeks, but I can already say that it enriches your life, and really has an impact.

Now, this is not exactly beauty related. But, I felt like I wanted to share this all with you this morning. From time to time you all know I like to share personal things on this blog as well.  I used to write little scripture verses that impacted me that day on each of my blogs about beauty or style. So, I’ve decided to try to do that again.

Today I wanted to just share two verses that I will cling to today:

For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.

Luke 8: 17

John 16:33

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will havetribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Later today I will be back to talk about the monochromatic nail trend! image

Dove Diary: Beauty Advice and My Daily Beauty Regime

Hi Beautiful Viewers,

I am very honored to have been chosen to be featured on http://www.2threads.com; an Australian Fashion and Beauty blog. They are doing a Dove Diaries special and have asked me to share a couple of things with all of you!

First, they wanted to know what my advice would be on “staying beautiful.”

  • My number one piece of advice on looking and feeling beautiful would be to embrace who you are and how you were created. We are all so unique and it would be really boring to all look the same. There are many images out there portraying a beauty “ideal” and it is not healthy to get hung-up on. You  need to enjoy your life and embrace the beauty you are.
  • Another piece of  advice for looking and feeling beautiful is to learn what works for you and your body, hair, skin, makeup etc. Just because one beauty magazine tells you a certain color you should wear, doesn’t mean you should. Find what works for you and work with it. Don’t be afraid to experiment and try new styles and products.
  • Lastly, take care of your hair, skin and nails. Healthy shiny hair, and beautiful glowing skin are really two things people notice.Make sure you drink plenty of water and keep your skin moisturized!

As far as my daily beauty regime goes…it tends to vary day to day and has gotten simpler and simpler the older I get. I think keeping it simple is key. I try to take really good care of my teeth, hair, skin and nails.

A couple of the things I do on a regular basis are :

  • Exfoliate my skin
  • Moisturize my skin and apply an eye cream
  • Use deep conditioner on my hair
  • Brush and Floss my teeth
  • Paint  nails
  • Apply makeup
  • Drink lots of water and Green tea
  • Apply FAVORITE PERFUME OF ALL TIME: Mine is, AMOR AMOR by CACHAREL
Those are my basics. Keep it simple, wear and use what makes you feel good, not what others are telling you to. Be honest with yourself and with others, treat others better than you would yourself with kindness, respect and love.
LOVE- Lauren

Nairobi Church Services and Inspiring Faith

Hi!

One of the most amazing things about this trip was to be amongst great people. Almost everyday we met between 5-15 new people. So each day we were communicating from people from all over. Some of the students that go to Daystar are from surrounding places, Uganda, Congo, Tanzania, Etc.

A special thanks to Jan Korbel and Frank Msambya who work for Daystar U.S in Nairobi. They were amongst the first people we met and the last people we were with before we left. They helped us feel welcome. Jan drove us around, planned our meetings and invited us into her home for dinner. We were very blessed to have such wonderful company.

I think the thing I was most excited about was meeting so many Christians in Kenya. Many of those that we met with had a real LOVE for Jesus and a real passion to do his His will. I was inspired by the dedication, commitment and zeal the students and alumni of Daystar had for going to school and doing really great things throughout Africa.

When we asked current students about their dreams and goals after college they were all very courageous , heart tugging dreams. I could tell that most of these students were very sincere in how they wanted to do good things in their home countries and were very thankful for their education

We attended 2 church services and 2 chapel’s while in Kenya. One thing I truly admire is the music! So much vigor, so much life, excitement and passion is behind a lot of the praise music in church’s in African culture. I love that!!! Singing, dancing, lots and lots of praise and excitement. I wish more churches in the U.S had that much “life” in their praise music!

Little boy who danced in the isle through the whole worship!

LOVE LAUREN.
