I’ve been trying and using sunless tanners for years. My skin is very light and any long exposure to the sun causes me to break out in a rash. And, it actually seems like the older I get, the less time I can spend in the sun.
Ok, so for example.. when I was a kid I used to run around all day in the sun…at themeparks, in our backyard, at pools and never once do I remember getting a “heat rash”. Three years ago, I was tanning outside on our deck. It was probobly 80* outside but but there was a breeze so it was pretty nice. What happened was…I was listening to music and I fell asleep for about two hours. When I woke up I went inside immediately but about 3 hours later I got violently sick …like to my stomach. And, I was burnt and peeling.
Just a short time ago in Vancouver , Royce and I were walking outside the beach for a few hours… I was pretty covered up since I know my reaction to the sun but I did have a V neck on. Sure enough I broke out in a heat rash all over the exposed area. Bumps and itching.
So, you get the point.. and in conclusion I have tried SEVERAL self tanners. Some that I’ve tried are pretty decent in color and texture but there is ALWAYS that “smell” factor. They all seem to have some type of smell… whether it be like suntan lotion, or like you just got a spray tan.
I recently tried HAMPTON SUN’S “SUNLESS TANNING GEL.
There is NO ODOR! I mean it. NO ODOR whatsoever! It was amazing!!! This sunless tanner goes on as a light yellowy gel and immediately sinks into the skin. Theres NO mess and NO odor. It also is very hydrating and feels good on my skin.
This product contains natural and organic ingredients including aloe, walnut oil and vitamins A through E. That would explain why it felt so good on my skin.
As far as my tan goes.. in about 5 hours I started to see significant color and then after about 12 hours I noticed that I was dark. I applied the sunless tanner twice on my arms and I had a really good looking tan. The color was darker than I’ve ever been with any other self tanner…and it was not orange. It looked like a real tan.
I had been using JERGENS sunless tanning lotion. But, that leaves a slight smell and it takes several applications to get up to my desired color. HAMPTON SUN does it better.
HAMPTON SUN also sells other shower and body produts, Sun tan gel’s and mists and face creams with SPF.
I tried a bit of the Super Hydrating Face Cream with SPF while going for a bikeride. It felt good on my face…left my skin feeling protected and I did not get any sort of irritation from the sun.
