Make-up and lashes I get, but nail’s have always been difficult for me!!!

Especially finding a good nail polish that really lasts on my nails. I have ranted about having a difficult time finding long wearing nail polish before. It seems as if I’ve tried every nail polish brand out there…drugstore and high end. But, believe it or not I have found one that is super cheap and absolutely does the job for me!

The Rimmel London Lasting Finish Pro Nail Laquer is amazing nail polish!!! I randomly picked up the wild orchid shade when I saw it and loved the color. I realized it lasted on my nails 4 good days and I definitely could have left it on longer, but when I get one or two chips in it, I always feel the need to remove it all and start again. These retail between $3-5 depending on the store and location

I went out and got 2 other colors just to make sure it was not just a fluke that this nail polish had lasted so long on my nails…(4 days with no chips at all is REALLY amazing for me). I got the French Rose color which is just a french manicure soft pink color and the posh pink. I tried both and they wore exactly the same! These are long wearing, have a super glossy finish and come in a really chic pretty bottle. They’re inexpensive too!!   

I can’t say enough good things about this nail polish. It is my new favorite! There are not a ton of colors to choose from  , but hopefully they will make more soon.

I have a secret to share. This is one of the best eye make-up tips I can give you!!

And, it is…MAC paint pot in Painterly. It is my all time favorite all over eye base before applying eye shadow. I use it almost every day and can’t imagine life without it. 

This has been my all time favorite “neutral” eye shadow base/primer of any I’ve tried. But, there is a new drugstore product out there that is really giving the MAC paint pots a run for their money. It is theMaybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eye shadows. I was very hesitant about buying one of these to try but they were getting such great reviews I had to try, and I am NOT disappointed. 

They are long wearing, don’t crease, go and smoothly and give really great color payoff. I still love my MAC paint pot in painterly because it’s neutral. But, these are really great for a pop of color, or a base for a colorful eye shadow look. The packaging even looks just like the MAC paint pots. 

So my favorite colors? Tough as Taupe which is a neutral matte greyish taupe and Too Cool which is a shimmery white. It gives a beautiful frosted affect.

Here is my client Krista’s eyelash story. There a huge lesson to this one so I wanted to share it with all of you!

This is a perfect example of why NOT to go get your lash extensions done if they only cost $25. Always ask plenty of questions, and ask to see before and after photos of the eyelash extension specialist’s work before you get them done. You need to know what you are getting into, because all eyelash products out there are not the same. Here is Krista’s testimonial:

“My eyelashes are thin and straight so I decided to have fake eyelashes put on at a nail salon. They were a disaster; not only were they clumpy and fake looking, but they hurt my eyes. Today I wanted to show you all what eyelash extensions often look like before you get them filled, and then what they should look like after a fill. I get a lot of questions about “fill” appointments. A fill is your appointment that helps you maintain your eyelash extensions. Since extensions will fall out gradually, usually people need a fill on average of 3-4 weeks. Those of you that have had a full set before, if you go into your service provider with eyelashes still on, you will have something called a “fill” instead of a full set. Fill’s usually range from $80- $150 depending on the type of lash you need applied. 

Erica just got her eyelashes filled and I wanted to show you guys what they looked like before and after. The photo that you will see is Erica’s lashes about 4-5 weeks grown out.

Here’s what Erica had to say: 

“Thank you Lauren for doing such an awesome job, you are one of the kindest people I have ever met.  These things are life changing! I have had mine done now for about 6 or 7 months, (by Lauren) and I am so happy I started them.

I had them done before by someone else in Minneapolis and it looked like I had only 5 on each eye. Honestly, there was NO WAY I could have made those things look good. So, I went into Lauren after a co-worker had referred me. I waited 2 weeks for the 10 that I did have, to fall off so I could start fresh.

I have been a stylist for the last 12 years and I currently own my own company as well as rent a spot to do hair. Make up has NEVER been this easy! I don’t even need much now! At least that’s how I feel about it. I also have 3 young boys and need to be able to go anywhere in a hurry. American Idol starts up tonight. I don’t watch a lot of TV but when I do, I love to watch reality singing shows, award shows, or anything dealing with style and beauty.

One of the main reasons I love watching American Idol is Jennifer Lopez. I used to love it for Simon Cowell smart and funny comments…but now, it’s fun to see what Ms. Lopez will be wearing, or how she will have her hair and make up. She’s a style inspiration for sure!!!

She  looks absolutely gorgeous all the time and is always switching up her hair and make up style, it never seems the same one week to the next.

So, I recently made another blog www.lovelobeauty.wordpress but, I want to transfer everything over to this one. I am only going to have ONE MAIN BEAUTY BLOG. My original idea is just post all work related content to  a separate blog, but this blog I consider part of me, and part of my business so why not just put it all into one.

So, I will be posting a few of my before and after’s on this blog over the next 2 weeks too.

I wanted to share a few words from my client Jenna and her recent before and after photos from her fill appointment.

As a reminder, a “fill” is an appointment usually lasting a little over an hour. It is to fill-in and make your lash extensions look new again. On average, people get lash extension fills every 3-4 weeks. The following pictures below are from lash extensions about 5 weeks out. This is what they looked like when I got there, and when I was finished with the fill.

“Lauren came highly recommended from one of her former supervisors in the cosmetics industry. The first time I got lash extensions I was extremely excited about them. Lauren provided a professional, courteous and personable service. I was a client from that day on. Now, Lauren isn’t someone  I see for just a service; I look forward to our chats.
