How To Avoid and Remove Nail Polish Stains

Hey Guys,

One of the most disappointing things is when you paint your nails a beautiful new color only to find out that when you go to take it off, it stains your skin and nails! I painted my nails a beautiful blue color by Sinful Colors, and  when I went to take it off with nailpolish remover, it left me with blue hands!

I made a video showing you how you can avoid this from happening, and what you can do if  it does happen to you! I hope you enjoy!

Another thing I should mention is that I have found that “cheaper” nail polish brands tend to leave staining. Be careful with the color and brand you choose!

Thank you guys so much for reading and watching! I hope you will subscribe if you want to see more blog posts and videos.

Love,

Lauren

Jennifer Lopez Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Hey Guys!

The cover of Harper’s Bazaar with Jennifer Lopez inspired me to create a look like hers on the cover. She has these beautiful orangy-red lips and winged brown shadows. Now, you just have to bear with me. I do not have her skintone, hair or eye color so everything on me looks different than it does on her. But- the main point of this video was to share with you guys how you can create any makeup look you get inspired by no matter who you see it on!

The palette I used to create this look is the Lorac Mint Edition eye shadow palette.  And, the Revlon Lip balm stains.   The colors I used were Rendezvous and Romantic.

Here is the video tutorial:

Just know- YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL , you can try any look you desire, makeup and beauty should be fun- experiment, play. :)

Gift Items to Splurge on from Sephora!

Hey Guys,

I went to Sephora today to look around at some of the Holiday gift sets. Of course, most of the sets I had my eye on were makeup related. Here are some you definitely should take a look at if you find yourself shopping at Sephora!!

The Vice Palette from Urban Decay$59  This palette is one of the top on my list for the next I have to have. It has 20 GORGEOUS never before seen colors from Urban Decay that are vibrant and highly pigmented. These colors are just those “fun” colors that you may not just wear for the average day, but a special event. I also think this palette would work amazing on Darker skin tones since there are some beautiful jewel tones, and these are so pigmented.

Cinderella Collection Palette from Sephora. $55 OK, I admit. This is another one on the top of my list. As a little girl, this was my all time favorite movie/fairy tail. I must have watched this movie over 1,000 times. So, this limited edition palette pretty much HAS TO BE mine. I LOVE it. The colors are beautiful, and the quality is actually REALLY amazing. I was VERY impressed with the color pay off and creamy texture of this palette.

Disney Cinderella Collection - Storylook Eyeshadow Palette

L’OCCITANE Hand Cream Bouquet $50.  I  absolutely love this hand cream and this set comes with 6 different fragrances and designs. This would be a perfect set to buy if you wanted to split them up if you had multiple people to give gifts too. I also love the packaging and box this set comes in!

Lorac Pro Palette $42. This is the absolute most perfect eye shadow palette I have seen in a long time. It is so versatile. 9 matte neutral shadows ranging from white to black and 9 shimmery colors you can wear alone or with the matte shadows. I LOVE this palette and have to have it as an artist. The shadows are buttery smooth, and it is a great value!

Talk to you all tomorrow! Don’t forget to subscribe to see every gift guide post this month!

Burgundy/Red Nail polish for Fall 2012!

Hey Guys!

I wanted to share my latest Fall nail polish love. I’m over bright colors and into dark rich colors. This burgundy/red color I found is my favorite right now for fall. The color I’m wearing is called, “Red Zin” from Sally Hansen’s Salon Manicure line.

Not only do I love this color, but the nail polish brand itself is one of my favorites. This polish stays on really well, and doesn’t chip off as easily as most other brands I’ve tried. It is a base coat, polish and top coat in one.

One tip I have to share is that  many times ULTA stores have clearances on some of their discontinued or out of season colors. Normally, this brand Salon Manicure by Sally Hansen costs about $6.99- $7.50.But, I found this color on clearance for $1.99!

What are some of your favorite nail polish trends and colors for Fall??

Color Inspiration- Bright Orange and Pink Nails

I absolutely love that bright colors are in for spring and summer.  Pink and orange are one of my favorite color combinations. Any shade of pink and any shade of orange…it’s definitely a feminine color combination.

Bright summer nails inspired by  the orange and pink color combination. (The color is not showing up very well in the photo..but they were very bright. ) I used Sally Hansen’s Extreme Wear color Sun Kissed, Rimmel London’s Lasting Finish Pro in Sunset Orange and New York Summer’s Hot Rocket Pink Nail polish.

What are some of your favorite nail color combinations this spring and summer? What colors inspire you?

Bold Colorful Lip & Neutral Eye

On days that I don’t feel like applying much make up, I like to wear a bold lip color and a light neutral eye. This is one of the fastest make up looks that you can do and still look polished and put together. This type of look only takes me about 5 minutes.

Here are the items I would recommend using to achieve a look like this:

  • A bright bold lip color (all three of the colors in the below pictures, purple, orange and hot pink are MAC lipsticks)
  • A tinted moisturizer or foundation to even out your skin
  • A brown or black eyeliner to highlight the outsides of your eyes
  • Mascara of your choice

This is the great spring and summer look because you don’t need to spend a lot of time on it and it’s fun, and trendy.

**Another fun idea is to apply a blush or cheek stain in a similar hue to your lip color to really give a fun pop of color to your face without looking too overdone.

Have a great week! Talk to you soon.

Love,

Lauren
