Eyeliner and Extensions- What Type of Eyeliner Should I Wear With Lash Extensions?

Hey Guys!

I get asked a lot of questions about eyeliner and what type is best when you have lash extensions. Even if you don’t have lash extensions, my recommendations may help you if you are considering getting extensions or just better understand eyeliner in general.

First, there are 4 common eyeliners out there. You have your:

Pencil Eyeliner which is very standard and basic, many people are familiar with pencils. Some pencils are smoother and creamier than others and some are made for the inner rim and some are not.

Liquid Eyeliner which is meant for creating sharp precise lines, very fluid and smooth . Often liquid is in the form of a pen.

Gel Eyeliner which goes on like a liquid very smooth and precise, but is a bit thicker and needs an eyeliner brush to dip into the gel and draw on the eye.

Shadow Eyeliner which is basically an eye shadow that can be used wet with a brush and creates a little bit more of a smudgy or smokey effect when applied.

The BEST for extensions is actually a Shadow Eyeliner. It is the easiest for most people to do, it is also the easiest to get off so you don’t have to rub at your eye and irritate the extensions.

The photo above is an eyeshadow palette. The two colors on the top row right side, ( a dark brown and black) would be the best choices when using and eyeshadow as liner for a natural look.

This is not to say you can’t use gel, liquid or pencil when wearing eyelash extensions, but the shadow liner will be the easiest to get on and off . On your lower lid, you can wear whichever kind of liner you choose since extensions are not applied to the lower lashes.

Remember, when having eyelash extensions applied you should be able to express how thick or full you want them to be, if you want them to look natural or dramatic and your desired length.

For some who have tried lash growth serums, this may be a better option for you because it is instant, and there is no need to apply mascara. With eyelash extensions  you do not need to curl or tint, or spend a lot of time with them. The less you do , the better!

My Most Inexpensive Yet Amazing Beauty Find Yet- ELF Eyelash Curler

 

Hey Guys!

I can’t believe I am going to share with you a beauty product that only costs $1. It is a steal, and honestly the most inexpensive yet amazing beauty product I have found. You just don’t find products that only cost $1 these days…it’s unheard of.

The Elf Essential Mechanical Eyelash Curler is one that I picked up at Target and I thought hey, for that price, I’ve got nothing to lose. And, it has quickly become my favorite eyelash curler I have ever used. I’ve used the MAC eyelash curler, Revlon, Sally Hansen, and some other drugstore ones all costing at least $7+ yet this has been my favorite so far.

I read some reviews to see if I was just crazy liking something that only cost $1 , but this got so many fantastic reviews by people, some even said it is comparable to the Shu Uemura eyelash curler.

My conclusion: If you have eyelash extensions  well then, lucky you and no need to worry about an eyelash curler, but if you need a little lash pick me up …then, pick this up…because you can’t be too let down for a $1. I have a feeling you’ll love it.

How Eyelash Extensions are Applied and Why Choose Lovelo Beauty?

I wanted post some information for you all today about how eyelash extensions are applied. I have had many questions about the application process even from my own clients who have never seen it done before. If you are considering having eyelash extensions done, this may also help you to see what a typical appointment is like.

**I just want to note that I trained through LAVISH LASHES. This video is provided on Youtube from xtreme lashes but it is not the exact company I trained with. That being said, this was the best video I could find online that displayed the procedure closest to what I do for my clients. 

I should also note that every place may have a little bit of a different technique, but you shouldALWAYS be laying down, you should ALWAYS have something placed underneath the eye on the lower lash line to keep the bottom lashes separate and your provider should ALWAYS be isolating one lash by one lash. My New Favorite Everyday Facial Exfoliator- Burt’s Bees Citrus Facial Scrub

 

Hey Guys!

I have a new product discovery to rave about today! It’s the Burt’s Bees Citrus Facial Scrub. It smells like pumpkin pie and is the perfect amount of scrub for everyday use.

The reason I picked up this product to try in the first place was because I saw beauty guru Kandee Johnson use it in her “Night time face washing routine” video. Here is her video I originally saw that made me so interested in this product:

 

The great thing about this scrub is it’s gentle enough to use EVERY DAY. It smells like pumpkin pie (not so much like citrus) but still delicious!! It also:

• Helps removes dirt, oil and make-up with a blend of Sweet Orange and Grapefruit Oils
• Exfoliates gently with Ground Almonds, Oats and Pecans
• Helps moisturize skin with Sweet Almond Oil and Glycerin

This is my new favorite facial exfoliant! I’ve been using it everyday, and my skin feels awesome… the jar is cute too! It only costs around $8. And, you can find it on the Burt’s Bees website or places like Target and CVS.

The Soap and Paper Factory Hand Cream: Elegant Packaging Makes a Difference

Have you ever seen something and just wanted to buy it because of how pretty, or clever the packaging was?! Do you think packaging makes a difference on the sales of a product? …I am definitely someone who loves fancy , beautiful packaging.

Take for example, when you are buying a gift for someone. For me, if I had the choice between a hand cream that was in a plain white tube that cost the same as a hand cream in beautiful packaging, I would choose the fancy packaging to give as a gift. Why? Because it looks nicer. I also like to set things out in my home for when guests come over…
