The cover of Harper’s Bazaar with Jennifer Lopez inspired me to create a look like hers on the cover. She has these beautiful orangy-red lips and winged brown shadows. Now, you just have to bear with me. I do not have her skintone, hair or eye color so everything on me looks different than it does on her. But- the main point of this video was to share with you guys how you can create any makeup look you get inspired by no matter who you see it on!
If you don’t know already, I love fragrances. Everything about them, the beautiful decorative bottles, the way they remind you of a certain time if your life, or a particular place. I LOVE them. I chose some of my favorites in the spirit of Valentines day to show you guys. Hope you enjoy this video I put together.
And, what do you think of Landon Austin’s music, isn’t he amazing. You can find him on Youtube. This was the music playing through my video.

Stay tuned for my next video- another Valentines Day inspired makeup tutorial!
I wanted to share my latest Fall nail polish love. I’m over bright colors and into dark rich colors. This burgundy/red color I found is my favorite right now for fall. The color I’m wearing is called, “Red Zin” from Sally Hansen’s Salon Manicure line.
Not only do I love this color, but the nail polish brand itself is one of my favorites. This polish stays on really well, and doesn’t chip off as easily as most other brands I’ve tried. It is a base coat, polish and top coat in one.
One tip I have to share is that many times ULTA stores have clearances on some of their discontinued or out of season colors. Normally, this brand Salon Manicure by Sally Hansen costs about $6.99- $7.50.But, I found this color on clearance for $1.99!
What are some of your favorite nail polish trends and colors for Fall??

I love it when I discover new things in the world of beauty. Especially when they are things I use on a regular basis! Today, I have two recent beauty tool discoveries to share with you, one is a new company I’ve discovered with the best tweezers I have ever tried. And, the second is a brush set that is purr-fect.
My new favorite tweezers are from a company called SLICE. These tweezers were designed by architect Michael Graves, who I know also designs a lot of things for Target. The design of these tweezers makes it easier to grip and hold on to. There are different styles and types, my favorite being the slant tip red tweezer, there is a red rubbery like grip on it which also makes it comfortable and easy. They are very sharp and do a very precise job. They are $19.99 on the website. Slice makes other things besides beauty products, check out there website to see!
I also want to show you guys the Safari Collection brushes by Japonesque. I just wish I had a whole collection of these brushes because they are so cute!! Leopard print through and through. This set of three retails for $30. You can go to the Japonesque website to find out more or find them at beauty stores that carry Japonesque like Ulta.
How cute are they!? I just love these brushes. They are almost too beautiful to use. I know from using other Japonesque products that they make high quality beauty tools.

I love my job. I think the eyes are the most alluring facial feature with lips as a close second. Enhancing the eyes through eye makeup and lashes makes my job fun! I absolutely love the beauty of eyelashes and seeing the difference thick, full lashes can make and how eyeliner, and shadow can be used to transform the shape of the eye.
Here is a before and after photo of silk lash extensions from the week.
Besides for loving what I do, I am very thankful. I am thankful for all of my wonderful clients, for the blessing of being able to do something I love, and all of the encouraging people in my life.
I did it. I bought the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. I know what you’re thinking, “Lauren, don’t you have enough make-up already??.” My simple answer to that is, YES. I do have enough makeup, but here’s how I justified my purchase of the Naked 2.
I am a makeup artist- it is my job to have a wide arrange of colors and variety.
It’s my job to use the latest and greatest. I do reviews on products, and I enjoy being familiar with the best of the best in beauty.
This palette is convenient. Neutral colors all in one place. Great for bridal makeup, smokey eye, or neutral everyday look.
I can use it day to day for myself, or for work.
The colors are beautiful! And , it was inexpensive compared to buying single eye shadows.
Need I say more? I’ve always been a MAC girl..and have many MAC eye shadow palettes so I sort of feel like a trader crossing over and buying Urban Decay eye shadows but it’s nice to diversify.
Tell me your thoughts on the Naked 2 Palette by Urban Decay and if you have the original Naked Palette, which you like more??
So far, I am really impressed by the quality and color pay off from these shadows. I love all the neutrals and that it contains a matte bone color, great for highlighting and a matte black color, great for eyeliner or smoking out color.

I have recently been nail polish obsessed. All of the fun bright colors of spring have inspired my nail designs. But, there is one little problem with a huge nail polish collection- storage and organization! For months now I have been trying to figure out how to organize my nail polish collection.
I wanted to find a spice rack or something like it for the wall, but instead I found clear shoe drawers at the Container Store. I got 5 clear drawers that you can stock on top of one another. I coordinated them by color. Here is a short video showing how I organize and store my nail polish collection.
Just to preface: This is years worth of nail polish as well as collections I’ve received to review.
If you have some cool ideas of how to store nail polish or more organizational tips, please leave your comments below.
I am once again inspired by spring to do bright bold colors on my nails! I used Salon Perfect’s new line of nail polish that will be out exclusively in the month of May in Wal-Mart stores.
Take a look at all of these colors that will be out from the Salon Perfect line! I couldn’t possibly have chosen just one of these to paint my nails this weekend, so I had to do 5 of them.
Perfectly Peach – Delicate peach
Lemon Zing – Sunny yellow
Kiwi Lime – Vibrant green
Blue Mint – Cheerful mint
Berry Blue – Classic periwinkle
Purple Sorbet – Dark lilac
Lavender Icing – Soft lilac
Spicy Tomato – Juicy red
Tangy Tangerine – Tart orange
Sour Apples – True blue-green
Blue Raspberry – Vivid azure
Plum Sorbet – Magenta with purple shimmer
Berry Pink – Bold flamingo pink
Bubblegum – Honeysuckle pink
These will be sold for $2.95 exclusively in the month of May. For more information you can go to Salon Perfect.
I am so impressed with these polishes so far! They are not only very pigmented and opaque but also longer wearing than some of my other drugstore brands. There is a rainbow of colors here…something to suit anyone’s taste.
