How To Avoid and Remove Nail Polish Stains

Hey Guys,

One of the most disappointing things is when you paint your nails a beautiful new color only to find out that when you go to take it off, it stains your skin and nails! I painted my nails a beautiful blue color by Sinful Colors, and  when I went to take it off with nailpolish remover, it left me with blue hands!

I made a video showing you how you can avoid this from happening, and what you can do if  it does happen to you! I hope you enjoy!

 

Another thing I should mention is that I have found that “cheaper” nail polish brands tend to leave staining. Be careful with the color and brand you choose!

My Current Favorite Nail Polish Brands- Top Formulas

Hey Guys!

Do you want to know what nail polish was worn by Jennifer Lawrence and Naomi Watts at the Golden Globes a few weeks ago?? Well, you’re going to have to watch my video to find out! It just so happens to be one of my FAVORITE nail polish brands of all time.

I have tested high end and drugstore, and these two brands I’m going to show you have always seemed to last the longest on my nails without chipping. Burgundy/Red Nail polish for Fall 2012!

 

Hey Guys!

I wanted to share my latest Fall nail polish love. I’m over bright colors and into dark rich colors. This burgundy/red color I found is my favorite right now for fall. The color I’m wearing is called, “Red Zin” from Sally Hansen’s Salon Manicure line.

Not only do I love this color, but the nail polish brand itself is one of my favorites. This polish stays on really well, and doesn’t chip off as easily as most other brands I’ve tried. It is a base coat, polish and top coat in one.

One tip I have to share is that  many times ULTA stores have clearances on some of their discontinued or out of season colors. Normally, this brand Salon Manicure by Sally Hansen costs about $6.99- $7.50.But, I found this color on clearance for $1.99!

Fall Nail Trends 2012: Dark Denim Blue, Oxblood, Metallics

I’ve been looking through the latest issues of Allure and Elle Magazine, and realized a nail polish trend that seems to be something I’m gravitating towards for Fall. I think some of the hottest nail looks for Fall are:

Dark Denim Blue: My personal favorite nail color of the moment!

Oxblood/ Burgundy: Which is not just popular for nails, it’s this Fall’s “It Color” for all things fashion.

Metallics. Fun and trendy, I think you’re going to see a lot of metallics this fall!

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure-All 5 Manicure Steps in a bottle

 

Hey Guys!

I’m picky when it comes to nail polish. I love to paint my nails, but don’t like how easily it chips off. I can never seem to keep nail polish on my nails for more than 2 days.

I have written about the Rimmel polish that I love and is very long lasting, but I’ve found another that really is better than any others I’ve tried, Sally Hanson Complete Salon Manicure; it is better than any high end brands I’ve tried like OPI and Essie.

It claims to be 5 steps in one, including base coat and top coat. I have found that this polish comes in a wide variety of colors, is super thick and shiny and it stays on my nails a good 3-4 days before I feel like I need to take it off.

Salon manicure by Sally Hansen costs about $7 , but it’s worth it for me to spend that on a polish that will last longer than most. My two favorite colors right now are the  ” Shall we Dance?” ( a soft pink) and “shrimply devine” , a bright coral pink.

Kiss Nail Dress- Stickers for your Nails!

Hi!!

I’ve been recently trying a new nail product. They are nail stickers that come in different designs and styles, and give you an instant manicured look without waiting for drying time. Nail Dress by Kiss are fun to spice up your typical nail polish routine.

These are SO easy. They come in a few different sizes, you choose the ones that work best for your nails…peel and stick. One trick is to use acetone or nail polish remover on your nail right before you place the sticker. It helps it stick better!

After you apply the sticker, you simply file it down to fit your nail. Mine have stayed on a good 3-4 days. They say they can last up to 10…but I’d say plan on a good 3 days that you can go without having to change your nail polish or design. They will start to peel at the edge of the nail..

I have tried the Sally Hansen Salon Effects, and I really prefer these Kiss Nail Dress to them. They seem a bit stickier and longer lasting.

Amazing Drugstore Nailpolish: Rimmel London Lasting Finish Pro Nail Laquer

Hey Guys,

Make-up and lashes I get, but nail’s have always been difficult for me!!!

Especially finding a good nail polish that really lasts on my nails. I have ranted about having a difficult time finding long wearing nail polish before. It seems as if I’ve tried every nail polish brand out there…drugstore and high end. But, believe it or not I have found one that is super cheap and absolutely does the job for me!

The Rimmel London Lasting Finish Pro Nail Laquer is amazing nail polish!!! I randomly picked up the wild orchid shade when I saw it and loved the color. I realized it lasted on my nails 4 good days and I definitely could have left it on longer, but when I get one or two chips in it, I always feel the need to remove it all and start again. These retail between $3-5 depending on the store and location

I went out and got 2 other colors just to make sure it was not just a fluke that this nail polish had lasted so long on my nails…(4 days with no chips at all is REALLY amazing for me). I got the French Rose color which is just a french manicure soft pink color and the posh pink. I tried both and they wore exactly the same! These are long wearing, have a super glossy finish and come in a really chic pretty bottle. They’re inexpensive too!!   

I can’t say enough good things about this nail polish. It is my new favorite! There are not a ton of colors to choose from  , but hopefully they will make more soon.

Rimmel Lasting Finish PRO- Wild Orchid

Hi Guys,

I wanted to share my nail polish color of the moment. It is Wild Orchid by Rimmel London, Lasting Finish PRO. This is my first time trying any of the nail polish by Rimmel London. So, I wanted to see how they work!

These nail polishes cost around $2.97. This color caught my eye…and the fact that it said, “up to 10 days” on it. Hopefully it will last a few days longer than some other polishes I’ve tried.

I also really loved the polish bottle and brush on this. It is a thicker brush which I feel makes the nail polish go on quicker and less streaky.

I guess we will see how it goes! There were a few other colors from this collection that looked really pretty. So if I like it , I may have to go back and get more. It’s like a greyish taupe.

Polka Dot Nail Files, and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear

Hey Guys!

So, recently I’ve been trying out SEVERAL different brands of nail polish from Target to see which Target brand lasts the longest, doesn’t chip as fast and has a great selection of colors. Now, this does not include the Essie polish, or Nicole by OPI or any of those higher end nail polish brands they now sell at Target. This is exclusively those under $4.99.

My winner hands down has been Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear. I love the applicator, the colors it comes in, and it definitely wears the longest. It is also a very high shine polish, and is pretty opaque. I never felt like I needed more than 1 or 2 coats, from the colors that I chose, (I’ve tried about 5 different shades). They come in many colors and retail for $2.99.  That is a great price compared to most nail polish brands out there!

The other day when I was at Target I needed a nail file…I didn’t want to spend very much and I found this pack of 3 polka dotted files for $.99! Then, I got home and tried to take a photo and this is what happened…

Nicole by OPI’s “Something about Spring” Collection

Hey Guys!

Have you been to Target recently and seen the “Something about Spring” collection of Nicole by OPI?? I am obsessed with the glittery nail polishes from this collection.

I am not normal a “glittery” nail polish lover. 1. because I can never find any that look good on the nails. 2. because they are hard to remove. But honestly, the ones in this collection are amazing! And, so BEAUTIFUL. I don’t know what makes these different from other glitter nailpolishes I’ve tried. But, these have made me a glitter fan! The 3 to check out are:

• Brilliant Idea (a lime green glitter); so fun for spring and summer!
• Dandy Lion ( a bright yellow glitter); another exciting color for spring and summer!
• Nicoles Nickel ( a silvery black glitter); great all year round, if you enjoy black nailpolish, and love glitter this is gorgeous and glamorous all year round.
