As I was driving home from class tonight listening to christmas songs on the radio.. I thought of many things. My painting teacher. She’s a woman who inspires me to actually teach. I have never actually seen myself being a teacher. but ,I guess its the type of person she is. what I admire about her is that she is so down to earth, she’s relateable, she takes interest in each person , is supportive of our needs and the other things we have going on in our life. She’s positive, and looks to the good in each person’s artwork.. and gives helpful and constructive critisism. I just think.. If I were to ever teach I’d try to be somthing like that.
We usually all sit around for at least an hour, sometimes two just looking at artwork and talking about each others work…I love that. and I also love looking at other peoples art, especially painting… I’d put it up on my list as one of my favorite things to do.
I took these photos on the way home tonight.. I love the city at night. The lights…against they sky. This is another one of my favorite things. .. if I could go city to city photographing lights.. that’d be a pretty incredible job. ???Guess I have a thing for light.
I am so excited for our next painting assignment. Its about EXPLORING PAINT, color surface and abstraction. probobly the PERFECT assignment for me , since I love having freedom to paint what I want, with lots of colors and patterns. We are doing 10 separate paintings on wood blocks using self expression and layering lots and lots of paint. Using collages, and patterns, glazes, and more. Each block will use a different technique of painting. I have lots of ideas and can’t wait to get started.
