I have always had pretty sensitive skin. I’ve always had problems with certain soaps, laundry detergents and the sun. Over the years, I’ve also noticed that my skin can get a bit red right after I wash my face or if my skin is really dry.
I’ve tried to find products or cosmetics that will neutralize the reddish color but I was never successful…until now. I have been working with Dermalogica’s new “Ultra Calming” line. I’ve been using a kit that has 5 elements of skin care in it:
- Ultracalming cleanser
- Ultracalming relief masque
- Ultracaliming serum concentrate
- Barrier Repair
- Ultracalming Mist
If you have never heard about Dermalogica, they are a top choice of skin care professionals worldwide. Dermalogica says it’s because, “we’ve been dedicated to delivering skin health results through education, innovation, and professional recommendation, not through advertising, frilly packaging, promises of miracle cures, or overblown hype.”
Let me tell you about my experience:
This “Ultra Calming” skin care kit does wonders for my skin. I use all 5 products in the kit and immediately I feel them soothe my sensitive skin. I was SHOCKED that when I used the cleanser I had no redness at all! It almost took away any red that was there and felt hydrating and soothing. Here’s an explanation of the 5 products that this kit has in it.
Ultra Calming Cleanser- is a gel-like cream that can be gently removed with tissue or a cloth. It contains no artificial fragrance or color and is meant to soothe sensitive skin and protect it from harmful toxins.
I LOVED this cleanser. It was so gentle and made my skin feel hydrated. I would use this cleanser everyday…it’s one of the best I’ve found.
Ultra Calming Relief Mask-is a powerful treatment mask made with colloidal oatmeal to help sooth irritated skin and help relieve flare ups of rosacea and redness.
I’m used to putting masks on my face that dry out my skin, or make them somewhat irritated. This does the opposite. I put it on, and leave it on, for about 10 minutes. When I wash it off, it’s like the red color has drained from my face. It’s so soothing.
Ultra Calming Serum Concentrate is a highly concentrated thin, clear serum that helps calm and restore even the most sensitive skin.
This serum is not sticky or greasy and it feels like what I SHOULD be putting on my face to help moisturize my skin.
Barrier Repair– is a unique anhydrous moisturizer in a clear gel form. It melts into the skin to help soothe irritation and guard the skin’s protective barrier. It leaves skin soft.
This is something I LOVE as well. This is a different kind of moisturizer, but almost reminds me of a make-up primer. It is lightweight and makes my skin feel hydrated and soft – almost powdery soft.
Ultra Calming Mist– is a hydrating mist that will quickly relieve sensitivity and bring down any redness or stinging of the skin.
This contains aloe to help soothe and desensitize the skin. I love it because it doesn’t have a strong fragrance… it’s light and is supposed to help with moisture absorption. So, spray this before you put on the barrier repair!
As you can see, I am very enthusiastic about this system because it REALLY works for my skin. I can’t imagine what I’ll do when I run out.
