I have some updates and things to share. With any transition comes many new things.
The first thing I have to share is that my blog is going through a bit of an editing and updating stage, and I will be customizing it with a fresh new layout and look for 2015. Second, I will be moving into a new place come the first of the year with great lighting and I’d like to get back to making “video blogs” and uploading them to this site. Third, now that I am in New York, beauty services, places and products are everywhere and at my fingertips. I plan on reviewing and sharing my thoughts on the latest and greatest in beauty in and outside of NYC.
That means, if you don’t live in New York, you will have a full list of places and things to check out when you visit me, (or I mean visit NY).
I was due for some highlights , my blonde color was fading and my roots needed a little touching up. Ricky’s NYC and Revolver Salon helped me out! Ricky’s is a huge beauty supply store here in New York with many locations all over the city, and surrounding boroughs. The really talented James Joyce at The Revolver Salon located in the Ricky’s Store located in Chelsea (for all of you who don’t know; that’s a neighborhood in NY, It was at 8th avenue and 17th street), did my color and blowout.
I was so happy with the way it turned out, as I like my blonde like the ABC’s and he got all three, 1.ASHY, 2. BLENDED, and 3. COMPLIMENTARY to my skin tone. Right now, my skin is pretty fair currently and I like the way this ashy light blonde suits my coloring. James was fun to talk to and we were immediate friends sharing tips and tricks in the industry. He also was quick and precise with his application and very knowledgable about hair color and passionate about his art! 🙂 He flipped through his i-phone and shared many cool pictures of lots of bold color jobs he does on clients; it was fun to see the transformations!
If you want more information about Revolver Salon at Ricky’s you can click on the website here. Also, feel free to e-mail me with any questions!
Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram if you want to see more photos and updates throughout my day (cause that’s where I post the most) 😉 Lovelobeauty on Instagram
I am all about dupes. If you don’t know what a “dupe” is, well, in my definition it is a product at a lower price that can be used in place of a product that is very similar at a higher price.
That is what the L’Oreal Total Repair Damage Erasing Balm is… a complete dupe for theMacadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque. Both are deep conditioners for your hair that really help smooth and soften your hair. I LOVE both of these products, but I have to admit, now that I found one that I can buy at the drugstore, I will most likely be purchasing that one more often.
The L’Oreal Total Repair Damage Erasing Balm costs $6.99 vs. the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque which is $33. The price really makes the L’Oreal one more appealing.
So, if you are looking for a great hair masque that’s going to deep condition your hair and give you softer , shinier locks…I think the L’Oreal Total Repair Damage-Erasing Balm is worth trying!

I always get excited for monthly favorites videos. I LOVE getting to share the products from the month that I couldn’t stand to live without. I have a little bit of everything this month, nail polish favorites, makeup ,haircare, skincare, fragrance and even home fragrances.
So, without blabbing any further…here is the video. It’s a good one this month!
I almost always write about products I LOVE. However, over the past few months I have tried a few products that were less than satisfactory. I think it’s important that I share these with all of you so you don’t end up wasting money! I really want to make sure that everything I write about is helpful and honest.
Keep in mind that the following are my opinions, and others may not have had similar experiences with these products. I hope you find this entertaining, funny or helpful!
Thank you so much for watching!
Today I wanted to tell you guys about three life changing hair products. I say life changing because they are things that I have used and was SHOCKED with how they actually changed the texture of my hair.
I had always known about “clarifying” shampoos, and I never really thought they lived up to their claim. I always assumed that they cleaned your hair but didn’t really know just HOW WELL they clean your hair. Also- since my hair is blonde, I was worried that a clarifying shampoo would alter the color and make it look more brassy or something. I was completely wrong; if anything the clarifying shampoo has helped my hair look more bright, and shiny. The color looks better, the texture is better, it feels more voluminous and soft.
The three products that have helped clarify my hair and have Actually made a difference are the:
- T3 Showerhead– which has 8 different pressure settings and a filter inside that helps clean out dirt and chlorine in the water before it hits your skin and hair!
- Kenra Clarifying Shampoo– smells like grapefruits and deep cleans hair removing all buildup from products and water in your hair.
- Philip B Peppermint and Avacado Clarifying Shampoo– Deep cleans and clarifies but also smells like peppermint and tingles and stimulates your scalp. Great for volume and promoting hair growth.

If I was asked what one hair styling tool I wouldn’t want to live without. It would be my GHD Flat iron. The reason is, you can straighten your hair stick straight, and even put curls in it as well. I have tried so many different brands of flat irons but I feel like the GHD is honestly the best.
I’ve had an older model for the past few years and it’s never let me down. It heats up in seconds and has 1 ” plates that straighten hair perfectly. I recently was gifted the limited edition metallic rich ruby flat iron and it’s gorgeous. It’s always more fun in my opinion when your tools are a different color other than black!
Here is the video I made demonstrating how easy it is to use the GHD flat iron and how I can create pin straight hair in just minutes.
I have had other flat irons in the past that snag or catch on hair and pull it out but the GHD seems to be built so well and has never pulled my hair while using it.
It is simple to use, there is only one on switch and it literally heats up in less than 20 seconds; it’s super fast. The great thing about that is, if you decide last minute that you need to straighten out your hair, you can get the job done in minutes. It also cools down very quickly.
Another great feature about the GHD flat iron is the swivel cord on the side shown in the picture above. For instance, while curling your hair if you are twisting the iron around, it is not going to get tangled up in the cord, the cord moves around as you move the iron. In my video I demonstrate this.
Thank you so much for reading . Go check out the GHD website and see what they have to offer.
Disclaimer: The GHD flat iron pictured above was sent from PR for Consideration. I am not being paid for this video. These are all my honest thoughts and opinions about the products as always. I had an older GHD flat iron for the past 3 years that I use a few times a week.
I love sharing the things I love with you guys. That’s why, the end of January and the beginning of February seems to be like a good time to do a monthly wrap-up and share all my beauty favorites from the month. Some of them are oldies but goodies, and some are brand NEW discoveries!
